That is a heart breaking yet amusing story to describe and hopefully an experience she has long forgotten through the years. It was also a trivial thing although painful and exasperating for both of us. But it might have been even worse.

As a committed pet owner you should really know at least basic first aid for dogs so that you can be prepared for more extreme emergencies. You will often be able to save on Vet charges for less serious problems like the one I had. But you may well find yourself in a situation where you need to help alleviate your canine's pain or provide life-saving actions until you can make it to the Vet.
